Questions about Nexo

What is Nexo?
Nexo is an AI-native operations platform for South African businesses. It puts point of sale, integrated card payments and Nexa, an AI operations manager, on one platform, so one device sells, takes payment and runs the back office.
How much does Nexo cost?
Starter is R499 per month for a single shop. Business is R1,250 per terminal per month and adds Nexa, the AI Operations Manager, WhatsApp alerts, multi-store reporting and ERP/accounting integrations. Enterprise pricing is custom. There are no setup fees.
Are there setup fees or long contracts?
No setup fees and no long lock-in. Contracts are month-to-month, with 30 days' notice to cancel.
Do I need to change banks to use Nexo payments?
No. The Nexo card machine connects directly to your existing bank. You keep your bank account and your setup.
What card rates does Nexo charge?
Because payments go direct to your bank rather than through a payment facilitator, rates are often under 1% on debit and cheque cards. Actual rates depend on your card mix and volume; we model your real numbers in a demo.
Does Nexo work offline?
Yes. The POS keeps selling when the internet connection drops.
Which devices does Nexo run on?
iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android (including the Feitian F600 card machine and tablets) and Windows for the counter and back office.
Does Nexo integrate with Xero, Sage or SYSPRO?
Yes. Nexo syncs both ways with Xero, Sage, SYSPRO, ERPNext and Cin7. Uber Eats and Mr D order integrations are coming soon.
What if my accounting or ERP system isn't supported?
We build the integration with you during onboarding, so you can switch POS without replacing the systems your finance and warehouse teams already use.
What is Nexa, the AI Operations Manager?
Nexa watches sales, stock, shifts, margins and customers across every store. When something matters, she alerts you on the dashboard or WhatsApp and drafts the work, such as a purchase order or weekly review, for you to approve.
Does the AI make decisions on its own?
No. Nexa drafts and you decide. Every action is shown to you in plain terms, and purchase orders need two-step approval before they're final. All figures come from live store data, never invented by the AI.
Is my data stored in South Africa? Is Nexo POPIA compliant?
Yes. Nexo's AI runs on our own hardware in South Africa, with no cross-border transfer of your data, and the platform is POPIA compliant.
How quickly can I get started?
You can sign up in about 5 minutes. Multi-store and enterprise rollouts, including any custom integrations, are planned with you during onboarding.
What industries does Nexo support?
Retail and hospitality today, with Nexo Farms in development. Pharmacies, salons and service businesses can also be configured: if it runs on a floor, a till and stock, Nexo fits.
What is Nexo Vision?
Nexo Vision turns your existing store cameras into analytics: footfall, queues, shelf gaps and walk-in conversion, cross-checked with POS sales. It's currently in pilot with retail and hospitality stores.
